What
can I do to prepare for my
trip to AOMP?
- Schedule a meeting with
your training coordinator or supervisor to learn of their expectations
regarding academic achievement and other concerns.
If other
officers
from your department have attended the Program, talk to them about their
experience.
- Check with your department
about travel procedures and use of equipment such
as laptop, vehicle for travel, cell phone, fuel credit card, etc…
What to bring to AOMP?
- A
supply of pencils/pens and paper.
- Please
note that you are expected to write a number of papers during the semester
so, to assist you, the
NCSHP Academy, the Wake Co. SO Academy
and NCSU campus
provides computers and printers. However, it might be useful for
you to bring a desktop computer or laptop if available.
- If
staying at the NCSHP Training Academy, it is recommended that you bring
soap, shampoo
and other personal necessities. Past AOMP students
have also recommended lamps, a small TV, small refrigerator, and gym clothes
for working
out. Additional info about the dorms is provided on the Orientation website.
When will I receive my orientation packet?
You will receive your orientation packet in the mail (to your home address)
three to four weeks prior to the start of the AOMP session. The packet includes
housing and meal accommodations information, an orientation schedule, and
pertinent maps and directions.
How do I check my AOMP grades?
You can check your course grades by logging into the University’s
Registration and Records homepage. Here is how to do it.
- Point
your web browser to the following site: http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/
- Click
on “MY PACK ”
- Type
in your username and password (same way that you logged into electronic
reserves earlier in the semester)
- Click
on “Grades”
- Click
on “Current Semester Grades”
