NCSU Distance Education Form

DEADLINE: April 30, 2008

Online Distance Education Lifelong Education (non-degree) Application Information

What You Are Applying For

You are applying for eligibility to register as a full-time Distance Education (DE) student. All course work carries degree credit. AOMP is a full time (15 hours) credit earning course off campus.

Students registered in only Distance Education courses are able to access most of the University's academic support services and have full access to D.H. Hill Libraries, Math Labs, and Unity Computer Labs. Because Distance Education courses do not include a student services fee, services like the Student Health Center and the NC State Gymnasium are NOT available. At this time, there is no option to purchase access to these facilities.

Registration Instructions

1. Go to this website: http://distance.ncsu.edu/registration/application.html. It contains instructions for completing the Distance Education online application, and the link to the application itself. (direct link for the form here)

2. The first page of the application asks for your enrollment intent and lists several scenarios. Whether you are a new, returning, or a graduate of NC State, be sure to click the button that says "Distance Education courses". This is very important because it guarantees that your application will be processed by the Distance Education Office, and not misdirected to some other office.

3. The rest of the application is self-explanatory. Just an FYI: if you are not a resident of North Carolina, you do not have to fill out the residency form. If you are a resident of North Carolina and are claiming N.C. residence for tuition purposes, be sure to fill out the residency form.

4. After you submit the application, please send an email to Karen Potter and Julie Trinks and in the subject line put "AOMP Registration". In the text, please give your full name, birth date, and the date they submitted the application.

5. Once the Distance Education Office processes the application, you will receive a welcome email within 24-48 hours . This email will contain valuable information such as Unity ID, Student ID, information about the My Pack Portal, email information, etc.

6. You will automatically be registered for the courses. No further action is required.

If you have questions about the form feel free to email Karen Potter in Distance Education or Julie Trinks in the AOMP office.
